Job Overview

Position: Early Childhood Educator (ECE)

Location: Port Moody, BC

Work Setting: On-site at Child Care Centre

Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (30 to 40 hours per week)

Salary: $28.00 to $31.00 per hour (to be negotiated)

Responsibilities

Key Tasks

• Assess children’s development and prepare tailored learning plans.
• Assist in housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement child-care programs to support children’s development.
• Maintain daycare equipment and supervise staff or volunteers.
• Synthesize children’s situations and communicate with parents.
• Lead activities that promote creativity through art, music, and physical activity.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods.
• Observe children for potential learning or behavioral problems.
• Establish guidelines for behavior and collaborative relationships.

Qualifications

Education and Certificates

• Master’s degree
• Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
• First Aid Certificate

Required Skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
