Responsibilities

• Assess the children’s development to prepare tailored learning plans.
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
• Supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers.
• Lead activities by engaging children in stories, songs, and local outings.
• Observe children for signs of learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports.
• Maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers.
• Plan and maintain a safe environment for children’s well-being.

Qualifications

• Education: College/CEGEP
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years
• Certifications:
  • Child development supervisor (ECE level 3)
  • Child development worker (ECE level 2)
• Languages: English

Work Environment

• Work setting: Day care centre or nursery school
• Environment: Outdoors, Noisy, Non-smoking, Air conditioned
