Job Details

• Work Setting: Day care centre or nursery school
• Salary: $25.00 per hour / 35 to 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent full-time
• Special Commitments: Day, Evening, Early Morning, Morning shifts available

Responsibilities

• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers
• Maintain daycare equipment
• Engage children in storytelling
• Communicate children’s situations to parents
• Assist with programs promoting child development
• Lead activities with storytelling and songs
• Help maintain records for early childhood educators
• Guide children in developing proper habits
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for activities
• Submit written observations on children’s progress
• Participate in staff meetings to discuss child progress

Qualifications

• Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma (3 months to under 1 year) or equivalent experience
• Experience: 2 to less than 3 years in a related field
• Certifications: Child Development Assistant (ECE level 1)
