Job Overview

Our client is seeking a drywall installer for permanent full-time employment. This position is suitable for candidates both within Canada and those exploring opportunities to relocate, including those who may require immigration support.

Job Details

• Location: 1519 O’conner dr., East York, ON, M4B 2V5
• Work Setting: Commercial and Residential, Various locations
• Salary: $36.00 per hour, 30 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full-time
• Working Hours: Day shift

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners.
• Fabricate and install suspended metal ceiling grids, placing panels to form acoustical and coffered ceilings.
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife.
• Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets.
• Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists.
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry.
• Tape over joints using a taping machine and embed tape in compound.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in drywall installation.
• Language: English.

Work Environment

• Environment is typically dusty.
• This work must be completed at physical locations; remote work is not an option.

Physical Demands

• Bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
• Handling heavy loads and performing physically demanding tasks.
• Repetitive tasks are required.
