Our client is seeking an intermediate Digital Integration Solutions professional to play a pivotal role in developing thorough system testing and validation plans. This involves ensuring seamless operation across a variety of systems including building management, life safety, security, lighting, power substations, ventilation, people movers, and water and wastewater management systems. The role includes proactively troubleshooting and supporting the Owner’s needs to commission projects, identifying and resolving integration issues, eliminating bottlenecks, reporting conflicts, and recommending solutions to mitigate risks. Maintaining detailed documentation of integration processes, designs, and testing procedures is essential. The professional will collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure compatibility and secure integration, while also complying with industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. The role requires engagement with the Testing and Commissioning team at key stages to ensure the success of tests and document results. Furthermore, the professional will interface with the Systems Design Team and others to determine schedules, monitor design progress, support systems integration, and coordinate procurement, installation, and T&C activities.
The main responsibilities include applying systems engineering processes to deliver successful project outcomes, such as requirements management, interface management, validation and verification, configuration management, and progressive assurance. The position involves contributing to the design, procurement, installation, integration, configuration, testing, and commissioning of rail or other mobility projects. Additionally, responsibilities include supporting the integration and interface of systems with civil structures, elevated guideways, tunnels, stations, OCS, lighting, communications, power stations, O&M facilities, and existing rail transit systems in revenue operation.
Compliance with system lifecycle processes as defined in ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 is vital, along with a thorough understanding of relevant provincial, national, and international codes, standards, and regulations. Excellence in engineering, people management, and client relationship management skills is essential. The candidate is expected to operate as a competent Subject Matter Expert (SME), developing teams while working independently.
Responsibilities also include collaborating with vendors, contractors, the Owner’s Engineer, or Project Manager to systematically validate interfaces of systems and subsystems, ensuring safe, reliable, efficient, and sustainable operation. Furthermore, the role requires developing critical review methodologies to confirm each subsystem functions correctly within the larger system, alongside the review of QA/QC processes to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality requirements. The professional will additionally be involved in making proposals for process or software improvements, consulting with project teams to optimize delivery outcomes, and informing involved parties about non-conformances and mitigation options.
The candidate is expected to engage in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and deliver training for project teams throughout the lifecycle of projects, from early design stages to construction and operations startup. Effective organization and resource management are essential for completing tasks while considering cost, quality, safety, security, and environmental impact. The role also includes supporting advisory services for clients, providing input for integration effort budgets and schedule estimates, and overseeing technical resources for projects of varying sizes. Familiarity and compliance with Health and Safety regulations, guidelines, and stewardship commitments are required, along with performing other duties as required by our client or the manager.
