Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Cook for their location in Scarborough, ON. This is a permanent, full-time position available for both local residents and other candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Immigration support may be provided for qualified applicants.

Job Details

• Location: 8 Glen Watford Drive, Scarborough, ON, M1S 2C1
• Salary: $20.00 per hour for 40 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, full-time
• Special Commitments: Day and evening shifts
• Vacancies: 2 vacancies

Responsibilities

• Co-ordinate special events
• Determine the size of food portions and costs
• Plan menus and estimate food requirements
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Inspect kitchens and food service areas
• Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
• Order supplies and equipment
• Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Organize buffets and banquets
• Manage kitchen operations

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
• Languages: English (Hindi is an asset)
