Job Opportunity: Corporate Controller

Are you a CPA with leadership experience and a stable track record in manufacturing or R&D-driven environments? Our client is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead accounting operations, ensure financial integrity, and drive continuous process improvements. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will manage the finance team, oversee internal controls, and produce consolidated financial statements across the group. You’ll play a key role in cost analysis, tax compliance (Canada, U.S., and Singapore), and support decision-making with timely financial insights. This is a hands-on, strategic leadership role within a dynamic and innovative HVAC manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise monthly and quarterly closings and maintain general ledger accuracy
• Prepare consolidated financial statements for multiple companies, including holding entities
• Lead and develop the accounting and finance team, overseeing day-to-day operations
• Review corporate tax filings (GST/HST/QST, U.S. and Singapore sales taxes) and government slips (T4A, T5, T3)
• Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly and annual audits
• Ensure compliance with tax authorities (CRA, RQ) and oversee banking relationships
• Collaborate with department heads to analyze plant operations (KPIs, costing, BOMs)
• Maintain and optimize internal controls across the organization
• Support payroll, AP, and AR processes as needed
• Oversee employee benefits program and related accounting
• Recruit, train, and mentor finance team members
• Contribute to cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Candidate Profile:

• CPA in good standing (required)
• 5-8 years of progressive accounting/finance experience in a manufacturing or R&D setting
• Team management experience (supervision, development, and mentorship)
• Experience preparing consolidated financial statements and tax compliance for multiple jurisdictions
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of payroll and time-tracking systems is an asset
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
