Overview

Our client is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team. The position is suited for individuals who can work independently and meet tight deadlines. Immigration support may be available for qualified applicants.

Education

• College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
• Equivalent experience also considered

Experience

• 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar role

Work Setting

• General manufacturing
• Machine set-up

Key Responsibilities

• Measure and lay out work pieces for assembly
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables
• Set up and adjust production machineries/tools
• Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
• Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments
• Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
• Maintain inspection records and complete inspection reports
• Verify dimensions of machined parts using precise measuring instruments
• Set up and operate CNC machine tools
• Enter codes specifying speed, feed, and cut of the CNC toolpath

Credentials

• Machinist Trade Certification
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate

Skills and Equipment

• Proficient with measuring tools like micrometers and calipers
• Experience with automatic lathes, boring machines, engine lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders

Working Conditions

• Ability to work independently
• Physically demanding role
• Attention to detail is essential
• Capable of lifting up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
