Our client is seeking qualified candidates for a position that allows applications from Canadian citizens, permanent and temporary residents, as well as other candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Visa sponsorship may be considered for suitable applicants.

• 2 years to less than 3 years

Work Setting

Work must be completed at the physical location – there is no option to work remotely. The position is based in a restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

Tasks

• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory
• Analyze operating costs and other data
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• Supervise activities of specialty chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers
• Create new recipes
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
• Prepare and cook food regularly, or for special guests or functions
• Prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
