Job Overview

Our client is seeking a Chef for a restaurant setting. Visa sponsorship may be considered for qualified international applicants. This is a permanent, full-time position offering competitive compensation.

Job Details

• Location: 4286 Kingston Road, Scarborough, ON, M1E 2M8
• Salary: $20.00 per hour for 30 hours per week
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

Responsibilities

• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items.
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff.
• Supervise activities of specialist chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food.
• Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions.
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies.
• Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.
• Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions.
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.

Requirements

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 1 to less than 7 months preferred.
• Languages: English required.
