Our client is seeking an experienced Chef to join their team. This role offers visa sponsorship opportunities for candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Responsibilities

• Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items.
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
• Analyze operating costs and other data.
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff.
• Create new recipes.
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food.
• Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets.
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff.
• Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions.
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

Qualifications

• Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years, or equivalent experience.
• Work Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in a managerial role.
• Certifications: Cook Trade Certification.
