Education and Experience

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
• Schedule and coordinate work on sites.
• Supervise other workers.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various establishments.

Work Conditions

• Environment: At heights; physically demanding.
• Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling; combination of sitting, standing, walking; overtime required.
• Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, reliable, team player, punctual.
