Position Overview

The Department of Computer Science and the Department of Medicine are seeking an outstanding researcher to be nominated for the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Artificial Intelligence for Improving Patient Outcomes and Enhancing Health Service Delivery. This prestigious appointment is aimed at attracting world-renowned researchers to Canada, with salaries ranging from $230K to $300K Canadian dollars per year.

Job Responsibilities

The CERC holder will:

• Develop AI models in collaboration with clinicians and healthcare researchers.
• Supervise postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
• Teach graduate and/or undergraduate classes.
• Collaborate with faculty members.
• Actively participate in service to the Departments, University, and the scientific community.

Qualifications

Candidates must:

• Hold a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
• Be an internationally recognized leader with at least 10 years of competitive research experience.
• Demonstrate research success at the intersection of AI and medicine.
• Have a track record of publications in both computer science and medical forums.
• Exhibit proven leadership in research and teaching that is creative and collaborative.
