Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Automotive Service Technician to join their team in Thunder Bay, ON. Visa sponsorship may be considered for international candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Job Details

• Location: 230 Simpson Street, Thunder Bay, ON, P7C 3H4
• Salary: $30.00 to $40.00 hourly (negotiable), 40 to 44 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time
• Overtime: Required
• Vacancies: 2

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.
• Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive systems.
• Repair or replace mechanical units or components.
• Perform scheduled maintenance service.
• Test and adjust units to specifications.
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
• Coach and instruct apprentices.
• Provide customer service.

Qualifications

Education:

• Registered Apprenticeship certificate.

Certifications:

• Automotive Service Technician (Steering, Suspension and Brakes) Trade Certification.
• Motor Vehicle Repairer (Service Station Mechanic) Trade Certification.

Experience and Skills Required

• Experience is an asset.
• Specialization in engine repair, electrical and electronic systems, and various automotive systems.

Additional Information

Transportation:

• Own transportation required.
• Valid driver’s licence necessary.
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail.
• Steel-toed safety boots and personal tools required.
