Description:
As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for staff assignments, patient flow, and acting as a role model, clinical resource, and advocate for nursing staff. In addition to providing frontline nursing care as required, you will take a leadership role in the promotion of quality patient care and the implementation of operational priorities. Your in-depth knowledge and skills, advanced judgment, and clinical experience will assist in providing solutions for complex health care issues at all levels with patients, interprofessional teams, administrators, and policymakers. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting shared vision and values.

• Minimum Salary: $44.71
• Maximum Salary: $61.18

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

• 5-10 years recent operating room experience with charge nurse experience required.
• Experience with operating room booking (elective or urgent).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to balance numerous demands and conflicting priorities.
• Work within a team environment and effectively contribute to planning processes.
• Proficient understanding of patient and surgical flow processes.
• Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational, and patient care skills.
• Ability to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Connect Care training, excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word.
• Demonstrate minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
