Job Opportunity: Apiary Technician

Our client is offering an exciting position for an Apiary Technician, suitable for both local applicants and international candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Visa sponsorship may be considered for the right candidate.

Job Details

• Location: Saskatoon, SK
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $15.35 to $17.00 hourly (To be negotiated)
• Terms of Employment: Seasonal, Full-time
• Work Hours: 35 to 40 hours per week
• Vacancies: 2

Responsibilities

• Maintain the bee yard and beekeeping equipment
• Work with honey bees
• Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures

Experience and Specialization

• Detect bee diseases
• Extract honey manually
• Harvest, extract and package honey and beeswax
• Manage bee colonies for honey production and pollination
• Treat bees with antibiotics

Work Environment and Requirements

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license required, as public transportation is unavailable
• Ability to work independently in a physically demanding environment
