Job Overview

Our client is seeking an Accounting Technician to join their team. Visa sponsorship may be considered, and we welcome applications from international candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit.

Job Details

• Location: Hamilton, ON
• Work Location: On site
• Salary: $40.00 to $45.00 hourly (To be negotiated), 35 hours per week
• Employment Type: Permanent full-time

Education and Experience

• Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
• Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll
• Calculate fixed assets and depreciation
• Maintain financial records and balance various accounts using bookkeeping systems
• Maintain general ledgers and financial statements
• Post journal entries and prepare statistical, financial, and accounting reports
• Prepare tax returns and reconcile accounts
• Assist in the planning and execution of financial statement audits

Required Skills

• Knowledge of accounting software, Quick Books, and MS Office
• Ability to work independently, with attention to detail and under tight deadlines
