Canada Issues 503 Express Entry Invitations for PNP
On June 23, Canada held its latest Express Entry draw, issuing 503 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The minimum score required under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)—which ranks candidates based on factors like age, work experience, and language proficiency—was 742. This marked a decrease of 42 points from the previous PNP draw on June 10, which issued 125 ITAs.
Before the June 23 draw, the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on June 12 issued 3,000 ITAs with a CRS score of 529. So far in 2025, Canada has been active with various draws, including:
- 11 PNP draws
- Five CEC draws
- Three draws for French language speakers
- One for education occupations
- Two for healthcare and social services occupations
In 2024, Canada conducted a total of 98,903 ITAs through Express Entry, indicating a robust demand for skilled candidates.
For international job seekers considering a move to Canada, it’s essential to understand the pathways for securing employment and residency. One crucial pathway is securing an approved job offer, which greatly increases your chances of receiving an ITA in upcoming draws. This is especially true if you are looking into a PNP, where provinces nominate candidates for permanent residency based on labour market needs.
What is an LMIA?
For those looking to work in Canada, employers may need to secure a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). This document shows that hiring a foreign worker will not negatively affect the Canadian job market. It’s an essential step if you’re seeking work permits in Canada, ensuring that employment opportunities go to both local and international talent.
How to Get Sponsored to Work in Canada
If you can secure a job offer from a Canadian employer, they might offer you visa sponsorship for a work permit or even apply for your nomination through a PNP. This can be an excellent way to start your journey towards Canadian permanent residency.
