Canada Invites 3,900 in 2019 Express Entry Draw for PR

On October 30, Canada held its latest Express Entry draw, marking the 20th draw of 2019. This time, 3,900 invitations were issued, and the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score climbed to 475.
With the October 30 draw, the total number of invitations for 2019 reaches 71,700.
Canada’s Federal Express Entry program manages the following streams:
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
- Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
- Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)
To apply under the Express Entry program, you need to submit a Expression of Interest (EOI). Eligible candidates are placed into the Express Entry pool, where they are ranked based on their CRS score. Points are awarded for various factors, including age, education, work experience, and language skills.
Interestingly, you don’t need a job offer to be eligible for the Express Entry program.
Candidates with the highest scores receive invitations to apply through regular draws, typically held every two weeks.
However, in October, there was a gap of 30 days between the last all-program draw on October 2 and the latest on the 30th. The IRCC held a specific draw on October 16 for FSTC candidates, which can sometimes lead to a higher cutoff score due to a longer time for high-scoring candidates to enter the pool.
The cutoff score of 475 in the October 30 draw was 2 points higher than in the previous draw.
In the latest draw, the IRCC used a tie-break on August 29 at 3:50:24 UTC. All candidates who scored 475 or above and submitted their EOIs before this date and time were invited.
So far in 2019, a total of 71,700 invitations have been issued, which is down from 74,200 for the same period in 2018. Last year, Canada issued a record 89,900 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residency.
Despite this decline, Canada has increased its admission targets for 2019 and 2020 under a multi-year immigration plan. As a result, it’s likely that Canada will surpass its 2018 records by the end of this year.
