Canada Grants 228 PNP Invitations for Immigration Visa

Canada’s immigration landscape is always evolving, and for international job seekers, staying informed about the latest trends can open up exciting opportunities. Recently, Canada conducted an Express Entry draw on September 15, 2025, focusing on the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). During this draw, 228 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) were issued. Candidates needed a minimum score of 746 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), a significant 26 points lower than the previous PNP draw, which took place on September 2.

This year has already seen a variety of draws, including:

  • 17 PNP draws
  • Nine Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws
  • Five draws targeted for candidates with French-language proficiency
  • One draw aimed at education occupations
  • Four draws focusing on healthcare and social services

Looking back to 2024, Canada conducted numerous draws, including nine that encompassed all programs and 14 focused specifically on PNP candidates. This highlights just how eager Canada is to welcome skilled workers from around the globe.

Since the beginning of 2025, Canada has issued 61,797 ITAs through the Express Entry system, which is quite significant compared to the 98,903 issued in 2024. This means there are plenty of chances for qualified individuals to secure their spot in Canada.

If you’re not familiar, the Express Entry system is a popular immigration pathway for skilled workers that includes various categories, such as the PNP and CEC. The PNP allows provinces to nominate candidates for permanent residency based on local labour market needs.

What is an LMIA?

For employers looking to hire international talent, it’s crucial to understand the LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment). This document confirms that hiring a foreign worker will not negatively impact the Canadian labour market. Securing an LMIA or a nomination through a PNP is advisable for employers to ensure they can effectively attract and retain skilled talent.

What Should Candidates Do Next?

If you’re dreaming of moving to Canada, the most effective way to strengthen your application is to secure an approved job offer. This is often one of the best pathways to increase your chances of receiving an ITA in the next round of invites.
