Canada Express Entry: 356 PNP Invitations Issued

Canada has recently conducted an Express Entry draw, where it issued 356 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) on July 7, 2025. To qualify, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 750, an increase from 742 in the previous PNP draw on June 12, 2025, which had issued 503 ITAs.

The last draw prior to July 7 focused on the Canadian Experience Class, granting 3,000 ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 521 on June 26.

Recent Express Entry Draws

So far in 2025, Canada has hosted:

  • 12 PNP draws
  • 6 Canadian Experience Class draws
  • 3 French language proficiency draws
  • 1 draw targeting education occupations
  • 2 draws for healthcare and social services occupations

In the previous year, 2024, the draws included:

  • 9 all-program draws
  • 11 targeted at French speakers
  • 1 focused on transport jobs
  • 1 for agriculture and agri-food occupations
  • 3 for healthcare roles
  • 1 for STEM occupations
  • 14 PNP draws
  • 10 Canadian Experience Class draws
  • 2 for trades occupations

Overall, Canada issued 98,903 ITAs via Express Entry in 2024. In 2023, the total was 110,266, and back in 2021, the country set a record with 114,431 ITAs, focusing on both Canadian Experience Class and PNP candidates.

The latest draw applied a tie-breaking rule from March 19, 2025, which meant that multiple candidates with the same minimum CRS score needed to submit their applications before that date to receive invitations.

Candidates have up to 60 days to submit their applications, which are generally processed within six months.

How Employers Can Attract Foreign Workers

If you’re an employer in Canada, securing an LMIA (Labour Market Impact Assessment) or a nomination under a PNP can enhance the chances of long-term employee retention. An LMIA verifies that there’s a need for a foreign worker, and it can greatly aid in hiring qualified candidates from abroad.
