Job Details

• Location: Winnipeg, MB
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
• Salary: $30.00 hourly, 40 hours per week
• Work Conditions: On-site work at the child care center

Responsibilities

• Assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties.
• Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
• Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
• Maintain daycare equipment and engage in storytelling.
• Synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to parents.
• Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs.
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and organizing local outings.
• Order supplies and maintain records.
• Encourage children to express creativity through various mediums.
• Guide and assist children in developing proper habits.
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms for lunch and rest periods.
• Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems.
• Discuss children’s progress and issues during staff meetings.

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• Required experience: 3 to 5 years in child care.
• Certificates: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate.
• Languages: French is an asset.
