Job Details

• Location: Brampton, ON
• Workplace Information: On site
• Salary: $34.20 per hour, working 40 to 60 hours per week
• Terms of Employment: Permanent, full time

Responsibilities

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment
• Pay and receive payments for goods
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Receive and relay information to central dispatch

Qualifications

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Certificates: AZ class license

Skills and Additional Information

• Security and Safety: Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract)
• Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, for extended periods, and overnight
• Work Conditions: Attention to detail, Physically demanding, Overtime required
• Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Personal Suitability: Flexibility, Judgement, Organized, Reliability, Team player
