About the Role

As part of the Shared Services group, which includes Finance, Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, Commercial, Legal, and Facilities, you will support our business achieve its goals through strong technical capabilities. We are seeking a Global Mobility Immigration Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent career opportunity for a dynamic individual interested in advancing their career with a global company. You will provide specialized advice in Canadian and US immigration and contribute to the development of our Mobility practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with outside legal counsel to secure appropriate work permits and authorizations for foreign national worker populations.
• Provide expertise on USMCA/CUSMA work permit matters and understand Canadian LMIAs.
• Coordinate the collection of necessary documentation for USMCA/CUSMA work permits.
• Ensure immigration records comply with legislative frameworks.
• Monitor immigration applications for compliance with immigration laws.
• Develop and suggest immigration policy frameworks.
• Provide strategic direction to the Global Mobility team.
• Review and recommend improvement of immigration processes for efficiency and employee experience.
• Educate and train managers and HR colleagues on USMCA work permit classifications.
• Stay updated on immigration law changes.
• Coordinate between HR, employees, outside counsel, and managers.
• Sign and review prepared paperwork correctly.
• Maintain appropriate records, files, and databases for the region.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 5-7 years of Canadian and US immigration experience.
• Strong attention to detail and research skills.
• Business administration degree or law clerk diploma is an asset.
• Qualifications as a lawyer, paralegal, or Immigration consultant in good standing is an asset.
• Understanding of the project environment’s life cycle.
• Demonstrated client focus and confidentiality.
• Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work efficiently.
• Adaptive to changes in a busy team environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• Willingness to resolve issues proactively and improve processes.
• Able to travel as required.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
