Our client has an opportunity for an energetic, passionate, and experienced Registered Nurse looking for a change in how care is delivered. In this role, you will utilize your robust communication skills, extensive nursing knowledge, and diverse work background. As an essential part of this provincial health team, you will be responsible for providing telephone triage services, offering health advice and information to callers across Alberta. Utilizing clinical software, diverse databases, and clinical protocols, you will evaluate, triage, and counsel patients dealing with intricate concerns. The role requires active listening, problem-solving abilities, and relevant questioning to assist callers. Analytical and critical thinking skills are crucial in determining the best care for Albertans. Description

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, as well as teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide telephone triage and health advice to callers.
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving to assess patient needs.
• Deliver high-quality health information in a contact care setting.
• Support diverse patient populations and clinical issues.

Compensation

Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour – $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted to the applicable rate for a Registered Nurse.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3-5) years of recent clinical experience as a registered nurse.
• Experience in various clinical areas requiring advanced assessment skills.
• Ability to handle stress in a high call volume contact center.
• Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM and intermediate computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• Experience interacting with clients over the telephone is preferred.
