Responsibilities
Tasks
- Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of plumbing systems and networks.
- Locate and mark positions for pipe connections and fixtures in walls and floors.
- Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings.
- Join pipes using various methods including cement and welding.
- Test pipes for leaks using pressure gauges.
- Determine piping system requirements and sizing.
- Estimate costs and materials needed.
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to specified shapes and sizes.
