We are excited to present an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to work at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre, located in the community of Fort McMurray. This role is perfect for an individual looking to utilize their full scope of practice while providing patient- and family-centered care. You will primarily be involved in Day Surgery, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, and the Pre-Admission Clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide pre- and post-operative patient care in accordance with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and National Association of Perianesthesia Nurses of Canada (NAPAN) standards.
• Demonstrate competence in delivering safe, effective, and efficient care.
• Act as a patient advocate and provide a link between various units in the facility.
• Utilize nursing processes in critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision making.
• Support health promotion and maintenance while reflecting the values of our organization.

Compensation and Benefits

In addition to a competitive rate of pay, we offer a Fort McMurray Allowance, which provides up to $12,480 annually. This allowance is non-pensionable and payable on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic rate of pay.

• Minimum Salary: $43.26
• Maximum Salary: $59.21

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of specific free courses is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing.
• Two years of experience within the last five years in the operating room and/or post-anesthesia care unit.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
