Cyber Security Engineer

We are searching for a Cyber Security Engineer for an exciting project in Montreal, QC! A global leader in control and simulation solutions for the marine, power, and space sectors is expanding its cybersecurity team.

This organization also provides advanced systems for naval communications, underwater acoustics, handling systems, and visual landing aids. The role is within the Marine division, which supports national defense projects and collaborates with international partners. The team is responsible for managing all onboard control systems and equipment on military vessels. As these ships undergo modernization, the integration of new software introduces increased cybersecurity risks, prompting the need for additional cybersecurity expertise.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and implement various cybersecurity and IT technologies as part of the Integrated Platform Management System solution.
• Collaborate with software teams, DevOps, and integration and test teams to enhance security throughout all phases of development.
• Identify, prioritize, and address security vulnerabilities within the product.
• Develop automation, scripts, and potentially write code to support cybersecurity efforts.
• Create requirements for other software to meet cybersecurity standards and needs.
• Deploy cybersecurity technologies to strengthen the solution’s overall security.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity within a software development environment.
• Secure software development practices, including OWASP Top Ten vulnerabilities, secure coding, penetration testing, and threat modeling.
• Proficiency in static and dynamic code analysis.
• System administration skills in both Linux and Windows environments.
• Must be eligible for NATO clearance.

Assets

• Proven ability to assess the security posture of a product, modify architectural components strategically, and lead targeted changes to reduce the product’s attack surface.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain cybersecurity concepts to development teams and assist them in implementing various security measures.
• Demonstrated analytical and decision-making skills based on both quantitative and qualitative data.
• Cybersecurity certifications.
• Familiarity with Atlassian tools.
• Proficiency in French is an asset.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with 3-4 days in the office per week.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80.00 – $85.00/hr.
