Your Opportunity

Our client is searching for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide care in a medical inpatient acute care setting. The facility comprises a 24-hour Emergency Department, a 17-bed Acute Care ward, and a 61-bed Long Term Care facility. You must be able to work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and have the ability to assess, coordinate, administer, and evaluate the provision of health services.

Demonstration of current nursing knowledge, efficiency, communication, and team skills are required. You will accept responsibility for continuing competencies through ongoing professional development, including participation in education and orientation and continuous quality improvement activities. You will follow nursing standards/protocols as required. The LPN is responsible and accountable to the public for his/her own practice according to the standards defined by CLPNA.

You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and organizational policies and procedures. Your key role will be to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)

Preferred Qualifications

• Current certification in IV therapy
• 2 years’ experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Preferred Connect Care training and emergency experience an asset
