Job Details

• Location: Bedford, NS
• Salary: $20.00 per hour, 30 to 48 hours per week
• Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
• Work Setting: On-site

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport construction materials
• Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, and barricades
• Operate pile driving cranes to drive pilings into the earth
• Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
• Assist in aligning pipes during pipeline construction and in drilling and blasting rock
• Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs
• Pave and rake asphalt
• Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
• Remove rubble and debris at construction sites
• Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
• Direct traffic at or near construction sites

Work Environment

• Outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces
• Fast-paced and physically demanding
• Work under pressure with tight deadlines

Qualifications

• Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years preferred
