The St. Theresa General Hospital in Fort Vermilion overlooks the beautiful Peace River Valley and provides acute, continuing care, and 24-hour emergency services. Expand your skills and expertise working and living in this rich and diverse rural northern community and discover unexpected hidden gems far from tourist hotspots. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, our client currently has a Northern Allowance of up to an annual maximum of $6,300. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate. Permanent and temporary employees working over one (1) year whose work sites are above the 57th parallel are also eligible for an annual reimbursement of personal travel expenses to an annual maximum of $1,235.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and our client’s policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
