Job Title: Pharmacy Practice Coordinator

Location: North Bay, Ontario
Salary: From $48.21/hour to $64.50/hour

Opportunity Overview

Our client is seeking a Pharmacy Practice Coordinator to provide leadership to the Pharmacists and coordinate safe medication practices within the department, including all clinical pharmacy services. The role entails working under the direction of the Manager of Pharmacy to ensure consistency with Hospital objectives, Professional Standards of Practice, Accreditation Standards, and relevant legislation.

Qualifications

Certification/Experience/Knowledge:

• A BScPhm or PharmD from a Canadian University or equivalent as recognized by the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Pharmacist in a hospital pharmacy department.
• Current license status from the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
• Preferred membership in the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a management or supervisory role preferred.
• Required experience in Clinical Pharmacy.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention knowledge (training provided upon hire).
• Knowledge of WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Material Information System).
• Understanding of Occupational Health and Safety Policies/Procedures and legislation for safe practices with hazardous medications.
• Good working knowledge of MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and hospital pharmacy computer systems.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in maintaining professional competence through ongoing education.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team with strong interpersonal skills.
• Experience ensuring compliance with patient safety and staff safety policies.
• Commitment to safety for all staff and patients.
• Good attendance and work record required.
• Bilingualism (advanced level English/French) is required. Unilingual candidates may still be considered if the French requirement can be met or no successful bilingual candidates are identified.

Additional Requirements

• A Criminal Reference Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, must be completed within six (6) months.
