Job Opportunity: Associate General Manager

Our client is a Canadian company that provides a clean, safe, and friendly environment at travel centres along the busy highways in Ontario. They are open 24/7/365, serving over 40 million customers each year who stop in for quick service food brands and convenience needs.

Role Overview

The Associate General Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day plaza activities across 1 to 2 locations, ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of property and facilities. Reporting to the General Manager or Regional General Manager, key responsibilities include achieving targeted sales, profitability, and audit standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate and achieve all plaza(s) budgeted financial targets with proactive action plans.
• Ensure all labour, ordering, and inventory targets are met.
• Recruit, train, develop, and coach the team to reach business goals.
• Ensure compliance with audit standards and health & safety requirements.
• Deliver effective communication and execution of ONroute and brand initiatives.

Inventory and Ordering Accountability

As the Associate General Manager, you will be accountable for managing inventory levels and food cost targets, ensuring all orders are placed, received, stored, and reconciled on time.

Brand, Audit & Customer Service Accountability

You will role model compliance with all regulations and ensure the highest quality of customer service at all brands, working collaboratively with your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Team and Health & Safety Accountability

Responsible for recruiting and training team members, you will provide performance feedback, develop SMART goals, and ensure adherence to Health & Safety processes in your plaza(s).

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies

• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in high volume food and beverage or multi-unit food management.
• Degree in hospitality or restaurant management is preferred; Franchise brand certification is an asset.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lead by example and build a strong team culture.
• Exceptional focus on customer experience.
• Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of food service operations with proven cost-saving initiatives.
• Highly organized and able to manage conflicting priorities.
• Experience with POS Systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Reliable transportation to and from the plaza(s).
