Qualifications Accepted to Work as a PSW:

• Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW)
• Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)
• Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed)
• Home Support Level 2 or Level 3 from a recognized curriculum
• Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate
• Foreign-trained healthcare professional – Nurse

Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license and vehicle for daily work use.
• Meet immunization requirements – MMR, Varicella, TB, Tetanus, and Covid.
• Current vulnerable sector check (VSC).
• Current Standard CPR level C certificate and First Aid.
• Availability to work days OR evenings.
• This position is physically demanding and requires lifting up to approximately fifty-five (55) pounds, walking, climbing stairs, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement.

Eligibility for the PSW Return of Service (ROS):

• Must have successfully completed an Ontario PSW training program on or after April 1, 2023, at a recognized institution that meets the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities program standards.
• Begin employment with a participating employer between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2026.
• Commit to 12 months of full-time employment.
