Job Overview

Our client is seeking a truck driver for an exciting opportunity. Visa sponsorship may be considered for overseas candidates, with or without a valid Canadian work permit. This is a full-time position based in Mississauga, ON.

Job Details

• Salary: $34.50 per hour
• Terms of Employment: Full-time, Term or contract

Key Responsibilities

• Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed
• Address customers’ complaints or concerns
• Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
• Receive payments for goods
• Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
• Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption

Education and Experience

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
• Experience: Will train
• Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection reports, Maintenance and repair reports
• Transportation/Travel Experience: Long-haul experience preferred

Credentials

• AZ class license

Additional Information

• Security and Safety: Criminal record check required
• Work Conditions: Attention to detail and physically demanding tasks
• Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
