Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will:

  • Competently utilize nursing processes to provide direct patient care to high-risk infants in a Level 2 NICU.

    Classification: Registered Nurse
    Union: United Nurses of Alberta
    Unit and Program: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit
    Primary Location: Red Deer Regional Hospital
    FTE: 0.67
    Temporary Employee Class: Temp P/T Benefits
    Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends
    Minimum Salary: $43.26/hour
    Maximum Salary: $59.21/hour

    Required Qualifications

    To qualify for this role, candidates must have:

  • Graduated from an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • If not practiced as an RN in the last five years, completion of designated free courses is required.

    • Additional Required Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication abilities and effective interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Competence in relevant technical nursing skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Able to work shift hours and meet the physical demands of the job.

    • Preferred Qualifications

    Candidates with the following qualifications will be given preference:

  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • Current NRP certification.
  • Recent Level 2 NICU experience.
  • Charge Nurse experience.
