Our client is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department at the Rockyview General Hospital. The RGH ED RN will work to full scope of practice, demonstrating excellence in interpersonal communication skills and written documentation. Strong assessment skills and the ability to prioritize care are essential, as is the sensitivity to the needs of patients and families.

Description

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide a variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations while ensuring their safety and well-being. Your duties will include:

• Utilizing nursing processes through critical thinking and problem-solving.
• Teaching, counseling, and advocating for patients and their families.
• Playing a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care.
• Providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care reflecting the shared vision and values of our client.

Please note that Provisional Permit Holders will earn $39.58/hour – $54.16/hour. Upon entering the register of Registered Nurses, the pay rate will be adjusted accordingly.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years, completion of required courses in medication management and health assessment is necessary.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience in critical care or complex medical/surgical acute care setting within the last two years (1536 worked hours).

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Calgary zone Emergency position.
• Current RGH Emergency trained; other Emergency/UC nursing experience will be considered.
• Calgary Zone Emergency Code Room, Triage, and Charge Nurse experience.
• Emergency Nursing (ACCN) certification.
• Current ACLS, TNCC, PALS, ENPC, and CTAS course (provide dates of last completion).
