Job Description
Join our client and be part of a team dedicated to creating a better world through innovative infrastructure solutions. We are looking for a Roads & Bridges Engineer for an Airport Project. This onsite role is based out of Mississauga, and you will help build one of the most advanced, sustainable, and passenger-friendly airports globally.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice throughout planning, design, and implementation phases related to roads, bridges, and associated transportation infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project-specific requirements through comprehensive design reviews and quality assurance processes.
  • Conduct Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for proposed upgrades, alterations, and new construction.
  • Provide off-site engineering support via field inspections at various construction stages to verify conformity with plans and specifications.
  • Lead and advise on servicing infrastructure ensuring integration with water, sanitary sewer, stormwater systems, and underground lift stations.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to assess capacity, performance, and reliability of servicing infrastructure.
  • Evaluate technical proposals from contractors, assessing feasibility and alignment with project requirements.
  • Oversee the technical components of road and bridge infrastructure within the program, setting performance targets and delivery goals.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination among engineering and architectural teams.
  • Review contractor/designer deliverables for compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.
  • Monitor designer input throughout construction to ensure quality and conformance.
  • Prepare and deliver management-level reports and briefings on design progress, issues, and opportunities.

    • Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:
    Candidates must possess at least:

  • University Degree in Civil Engineering with 4 years of experience in planning, design, and implementation phases of related projects.
  • Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

    • Preferred Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer licensed to practice in Ontario.
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of civil infrastructure.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations, codes, and standards applicable to civil transportation infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in design, maintenance, and rehabilitation of civil infrastructure meeting Canadian aerodrome standards.
  • Strong expertise in pavement evaluation, geometric roadway design, and underground servicing systems.
  • OSIM bridge inspection training or experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with airport infrastructure standards is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in design and modeling software, including MicroStation, AutoCAD, BIM, and Bentley InRoads/OpenRoads Designer.
  • Experience in applying asset management principles to transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills to lead workshops with multidisciplinary groups.
