Our client is located in a rural setting, 70km north of Edmonton, where Nurses work within a multidisciplinary team to provide family-focused nursing care. This environment is suitable for candidates who have recent medical/surgical, emergency, and labor and delivery room experience, certification in a relevant specialty area, charge nurse experience, and leadership training. Our client has an active OR with orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology, obstetrics, and general surgery. Additionally, it serves as an Acute Stroke Center for the north. The healthcare center is a fast-paced environment, requiring individuals with good communication and organizational skills. Relevant advanced certifications and professional development opportunities are available to successful candidates.

Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care while reflecting shared vision and values.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the relevant licensing body.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

• Ability to work shift rotation schedules.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
• Must be a team player and willing to train and assist in all areas of the hospital.
• Basic computer skills, good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
• Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required.
• Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

• ACLS.
• TNCC.
• NRP.
• Experience with post-partum care.
• Emergency Room experience.
