About the Opportunity

The Health Care Social Worker reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for providing a diverse range of interventions to clients and their families. Key responsibilities include:

• Conducting psychosocial assessments
• Providing adjustment therapy and supportive therapy
• Offering crisis counselling and resource counselling
• Managing discharge planning and case management

This multifaceted role requires both autonomous and collaborative work within interdisciplinary teams, adhering to national and provincial standards and ethical practices. The Social Worker will also supervise undergraduate and graduate students during their placements.

About You

If you meet the following qualifications, we encourage you to apply:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work from a recognized university
• Registered or eligible for registration with NSCSW
• Two (2) years of clinical experience as a clinical Social Worker
• Strong counselling and communication skills
• Ability to practice autonomously
• Experience working in multidisciplinary team settings
• Knowledge of family violence, sexual abuse, addictions, grief, disability, and crisis intervention
• Competencies in additional languages an asset, with preference for French

Minimum two (2) years of experience are required. Candidates with less than two (2) years may still be considered and placed on the Health Care Social Worker (Developmental) scale if offered employment.

Hours

• Permanent Full Time; 75 Hours Bi-weekly

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly compensation ranges from $34.18 to $54.14, with developmental scales starting at $35.83 to $46.37. Successful candidates may also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel coverage, long-term disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
