Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department (ED) works in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team, the patient, and family. Responsible for the primary care of Emergency/Trauma patients, the main functions of the ED RN include, but are not limited to: assessment, intervention, education, and patient advocacy. The ED RN supports the philosophy of Person-Focused Care and the principles of our client’s mission, vision, and values.
Our client is offering to sponsor nurses who are interested in completing the Emergency Department Certificate program through Humber College. This is an exciting opportunity to diversify your career and develop emergency medicine skills. Candidates selected to participate in this full-time 12-week program (theory and clinical combined) will be provided with a conditional offer of full-time employment in the ED contingent on the successful completion of the Emergency Department certification (theory and clinical) and ED orientation, alongside a minimum one-year commitment to work in the ED. This offer includes your full-time salary while enrolled in the course and covers tuition costs. Books and any other required materials are the candidate’s responsibility. Upon successful completion of the program, both academically and clinically, staffing needs will determine your schedule and orientation plan.
