Your Opportunity:
The Health Link Team has an opportunity for an energetic, passionate, and experienced Registered Nurse looking for a change in how care is delivered. You will be utilizing your robust communication skills, extensive nursing knowledge, and diverse work background. An essential part of this provincial health team, you will be responsible for providing telephone triage services, offering health advice and information to callers across Alberta.

Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide various nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while ensuring their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes through critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making, while teaching, counseling, and advocating on behalf of patients and their families. You will also play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
Compensation:
Provisional Permit Holders shall be paid $39.58 /hour – $54.16/hour. Upon being entered into the register of Registered Nurses, the rate of pay shall be adjusted according to AHS/UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii) as applicable.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management – Chapters 1 – 4 and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three (3-5 years) of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting, including experience in various clinical areas that require high levels of independent and advanced assessment skills, strong critical thinking, and excellent probing skills. Recent experience working with diverse client populations and clinical issues, including emergency, pediatrics, maternal/child, medical/surgical, and critical care, is necessary. You will also need the ability to deal with stress in a high call volume contact center and work comfortably with a variety of computer databases. A minimum typing speed of 35 WPM is required, along with intermediate computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience interacting with clients over the telephone is also preferred.
