Embedded Software Engineer – Boisbriand, QC

Our client is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to join its team in Boisbriand. This role focuses on the development and support of Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC) for advanced computing platforms used in industrial, telecom, and defense applications.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities:

• Develop embedded software in C on a Linux platform.
• Work with Board Support Packages (BSP).
• Ensure reliability, security, and performance of embedded platforms.
• Lead development, integration, and maintenance of BMC firmware.
• Provide expert-level support for BMC-related issues across product lines.
• Collaborate with hardware/software teams to ensure BMC functionality.
• Analyze and debug complex system-level firmware issues.
• Support manufacturing and field teams with diagnostics and updates.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards and security best practices.
• Document firmware architecture, design decisions, and troubleshooting.

✅ Required Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in embedded development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and embedded Linux.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Bilingual in English and French.

⭐ Assets (Nice to Have):

• Experience with IPMI, Redfish, and BMC protocols.
• Familiarity with BMC architecture and debugging.
• Experience with Yocto Project and BSP development.
• Knowledge of telecom protocols and embedded security.
• Familiarity with server management tools and remote monitoring systems.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 – $60.00/hr.
