Site Manager – Mississauga

Our client is seeking a full-time onsite Site Manager for Mississauga, responsible for the safe and efficient management of all site-sponsored activities, including production, warehouse operations, and facility management.

Your future role

• Ensure site strategy aligns with global North America Services and Parts & Overhaul strategy, promoting site development and growth.
• Lead site safety, production, warehouse operations, and continuous improvement programs through regular sessions with site stakeholders.
• Ensure Quality Cost Delivery (QCD) performance.
• Deploy and sustain site processes, including Warehouse, Supply Chain, Industrial, and Production.
• Manage operations and warehouse planning along with workload management.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives and deploy APSYS at the site.
• Foster a Quality mindset using techniques like Poke Yoke, QRQC, and 5 Whys.
• Oversee manufacturing and warehouse activities related to projects and aftermarket parts delivery.
• Manage site industrialization aspects, including BOM accuracy and tooling.
• Ensure availability of resources and manage skills (staffing, training, qualification, etc.).
• Conduct operators’ training, certification, and self-inspections.
• Measure, report, and improve performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to production output, inventory accuracy, and APSYS assessments.
• Maintain all assets and materials on-site, including building maintenance and inventory management.
• Collaborate with Finance and Operations on site financial analysis and reporting, including budget planning and variance analysis.
• Approve all site-related invoices, including utilities and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with Safety, EHS, Ethics & Compliance, as well as Quality alerts and the Alstom Zero Deviation Plan.
• Coordinate with Quality and Engineering to maintain quality manufacturing and parts.
• Develop and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan for communication and data service restoration during emergencies.
• Recruit, train, and develop site staff while ensuring a safe and compliant work environment.
• Monitor and evaluate employee performance with HR collaboration, utilizing coaching and disciplinary measures as needed.
• Promote positive morale and contribute to employee engagement through inclusive site activities.
• Be present at the site; otherwise, designate a delegate for site management.

All about you

• Degree in Industrial or Operations Management, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an industrial or warehousing environment.
• Proven experience in people management.
• Experience in the railway industry is an asset.
• Knowledge of industrial management, manufacturing processes, and technologies.
• Understanding of warehousing, logistics, and supply chain systems.
• Familiarity with lean management tools and process improvement methods.
• Knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) regulations and applicable labor laws.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to coach and solve problems while building an autonomous team.
• Proficiency in SAP and other ERP systems, along with quality management and finance systems; skilled in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
