Your Opportunity

This rural generalist Physiotherapist II position provides physiotherapy services to clients in homecare in St. Paul and continuing care, acute care, and ambulatory outpatients in Elk Point as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Description

As a Physiotherapist II, you will:

• Provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services.
• Supervise students and team members as assigned.
• Work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing leadership to other healthcare professionals.
• Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge, and follow-up.
• Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient, and effective client care.
• Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence-based and in alignment with legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and policy guidelines.
• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery, identifying service needs.
• Assist other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits, and providing follow-up and feedback to staff.
• Participate in program development and operational planning, representing the department on committees or programs.
• Make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, and caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.

Required Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience.
• Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
• Certification in Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Preferred Qualifications

• New grads are welcome to apply.
• Preferably one year experience in a rural generalist position.
• One year experience as a physiotherapist in continuing care and/or homecare.
• AADL authorizer status for mobility aids.
