About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer – Stress Engineer to join their Sarnia, Ontario team. This role offers the chance to work on unique technical challenges while providing value-driven engineering services.

Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing various aspects of mechanical engineering, piping engineering, and design support within a dynamic project team.

Job Duties

• Supervise, perform, and check calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual techniques.
• Organize/plan jobs, write/review specifications, and maintain project schedules.
• Utilize vendor data and collaborate with other disciplines for performance of designs.
• Develop and monitor estimates and manpower forecasts.
• Travel as required to support project goals.
• Exhibit understanding of pertinent codes and regulations.
• Prepare, review, and approve mechanical packages for processing equipment.
• Review and approve piping designs and participate in Process Hazards Analyses (PHA) studies.
• Conduct internal “Safe Design” checks on project packages.
• Assist in the development of internal systems to improve project delivery quality.
• Conduct field investigations and provide engineering support across disciplines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• P.Eng. in Ontario.
• Knowledge of piping and static/rotating equipment.
• Experienced in Plant 3D/Caesar II.
• Understanding of electrical systems is an asset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct detailed calculations to meet engineered standards.
• Experience in multiple project phases including design and commissioning is an asset.
