About the Position:
The Home Visitation Nurse serves as a key representative delivering primary health services to families in the community, focusing on children from pregnancy to six years of age. Utilizing the nursing process, critical thinking, health education, and supportive counselling, this role offers care to individuals, families, and communities. The Nurse is responsible for establishing and maintaining partnerships with community agencies and collaborating in case management for referred families. The incumbent will also support families in connecting with health resources and medical professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide a variety of nursing services to patients, families, and communities.
• Utilize nursing processes and critical thinking to ensure patient safety and well-being.
• Teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families.
• Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
• Provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care.
• Ensure compliance with relevant privacy legislation and organizational policies.

Compensation:

• Provisional Permit Holders: $39.58 /hour – $54.16/hour.
• Registered Nurse rate adjusted upon registration confirmation.

• Shifts: Days (7.75 hours per shift)
• Vehicle Requirement: Driver’s License and Vehicle Required

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
• If not practiced within the last five years, completion of specific courses is required.

Additional Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a Community Health Nursing Program.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Experience working with complex and vulnerable populations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of multiple teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Indigenous Awareness Sensitivity Training.
• Understanding of The Social Determinants of Health.
• Experience with motivational interviewing and community referrals.
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing preferred; relevant skills and experience will be considered.
