Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Opportunity

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide care to emergency patients and acute care medical inpatients on a 32-bed unit. This combined unit fosters a strong collaborative team environment with Nurses, Physicians, Unit Clerks, and Health Care Aides. The LPN will be committed to providing open communication and feedback with respect for colleagues, care providers, patients, and families. This position offers the opportunity for both personal and professional development within a variety of teams and may also qualify for rural student loan forgiveness programs.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will be a vital part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes along with critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level, and relevant policies and procedures. Your key responsibilities include:

• Classification: Licensed Practical Nurse
• Union: AUPE AUX
• Unit and Program: Medical Nursing
• Primary Location: Hospital
• Multi-Site: Not Applicable
• FTE: 1.00
• Temporary Employee Class: Temp F/T Benefits
• Hours per Shift: 11.08
• Shifts per cycle: 42
• Shift Pattern: Days, Nights, Weekends
• Minimum Salary: $27.58
• Maximum Salary: $36.13

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Education in CTAS, Cardiac Arrest management (CAM) Basic and Advanced or ACLS, Trauma 101 or TNCC, Pediatric Building Blocks or PALS, and ENPEP.
• IV and CVAD competency.
• Other relevant courses and training applicable to the rural acute and emergency setting.
