Qualifications Accepted to Work as a PSW:

• Valid Certificate as a Personal Support Worker (PSW).
• RN or RPN.
• Nursing student (2 clinical placements completed).
• Valid Developmental Support Worker Certificate.
• Foreign trained healthcare professional – Nurse.

Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license and vehicle.
• Current CPR Certificate (level C).
• Immunization record (TB test completed within the last 12 months).
• Vulnerable sector check screening required upon hire.
• Current Standard CPR level C certificate and FA if applicable.
• Availability to work days or evenings, including weekends.
• This position is physically demanding and requires significant movement and lifting.

Eligibility for the PSW Return of Service (ROS):

New Graduates:

• Complete an Ontario PSW training program that meets the 2022 standard.
• Begin employment with a participating employer within specified dates.
• Commit to 12 months of full-time employment.

Previous Graduates:

• Previously trained as a PSW.
• No direct patient care roles in the past 12 months.
• Begin employment with a participating employer within specified dates.
• Commit to 12 months of full-time employment.
