Job Summary

We are excited to announce a sponsorship opportunity for qualified applicants. Our client will be offering a paid Critical Care Nursing Program through the Michener Institute based on the qualifications at the bottom of this posting.

• Fall Cohort Dates: August 25, 2025; Hospital orientation to start on August 12, 2025.
• Fall Cohort Date: September 28, 2025; Hospital orientation to start on September 9, 2025.
• Winter Cohort Date: January 12, 2026; Orientation date to be determined.

About the Critical Care Nursing Program:

• 11 week course
• Paid full-time hours
• Combination of instructor-led virtual and clinical education
• Formal 3-month mentorship offered after course completion
• Additional in-house opportunities for further certifications after course completion

Primary Responsibilities

• Provides patient and family-focused care within the RN scope of practice.
• Functions in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures.
• Effectively communicates with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to manage complex health issues.
• Contributes to the assessment and documentation of patient health status.
• Assists in developing and implementing patient care plans.
• Acts as a role model in integrating safe, best practices into daily activities.
• Participates in the development and evaluation of clinical pathways.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager/delegate.

Qualifications

• Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Three (3) to five (5) years of recent critical care nursing experience or Critical Care Certificate.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong problem assessment skills.
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork.
• Individual leadership skills.

Critical Care Sponsorship Qualifications

• Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Minimum one (1) to three (3) years of recent medical and/or surgical nursing experience preferred.
• BCLS current certification.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Innovative and willing to learn.
• Excellence in communication, both written and verbal.
